Here's who's headlining Strawberry Festival 2017
Modern Sky have announced the main headliners for this year's Shanghai Strawberry Festival, taking place at the Expo Garden Park over the May holiday.
The 'first wave' announcement features around half of the acts set to appear, but there aren't likely to be too many more big names in the future waves - a rumoured appearance from Edison Chen perhaps being the only exception. In addition to the below, you can expect the line-up to be filled out with the usual Chinese suspects from Modern Sky's roster of domestic rock acts such as Queen Sea Big Shark and Omnipotent Youth Society - you know, the bands who seem destined to play Strawberry's fields forever.
Anyway, here's who's been announced:
CHARLI XCX
The British pop star behind hits such as 'Boom Clap' and 'After the Afterparty' returns to Shanghai following her appearance at last year's Fashion Rocks party. Due to perform on the Monday - the same day as Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg, New Pants and pg.Lost - she ought to be a fun headliner to close out the festival with.

KSHMR
The 'Top 100 DJs' list regular and vowel-phobe played in the torrential rain at last year's MYTH on the same site and following the cancellation of Modern Sky's EDM-centric festival this year it's not a big surprise that he's set to return as a Strawberry headliner instead.

THE VACCINES
The London indie rockers have been quiet for a little while, but apparently have a new album on the way this year and are set to headline the opening day of the festival. Also appearing on April 29 will be Caspian, Xie Tian Xiao (XTX), Headhunterz and...
THE DRUMS
Pop-rockers The Drums performed here back in December 2014 at Qianshuiwan (as it was then known) and they've got a new album on the way in June, the cheerfully titled Abysmal Thoughts. The new record was written and recorded entirely by Jonny Pierce; Jacob Graham – the band's co-founder – has now left.

AND ALSO
Other notable names announced so far include Japanese electronicore act Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, old-school Chinese rockers Miserable Faith, regular visitor DJ Krush, post-punks Re-TROS and Shanghai's very own globe-trotting producer Conrank (all on Sunday 30).
